Precepts Outreach, Inc. collaborates with local agencies and churches to provide an array of services for the targeted population. The goals of Precepts Outreach, Inc. include:
• Training of adults and teen in the Tri-County (Berkeley, Dorchester, and Charleston Counties) to become economically self-sufficient.
• Education about taxpayers rights and responsibilities with the IRS
• Provide information about the individual Tax Identification Number (ITIN)
• Provide information about Child Tax Credit (CTC) and Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC).
• Provide free legal assistance to qualified individuals, who have problems with the IRS.
• Provide Tax resolution
• Provide tax preparation services to low income members of the targeted population
Precepts Outreach, Inc. currently reaches over four hundred (400) members of the low-income population. The need for more assistance in the Tri-County continues to grow as more low-income residents move to the area. Currently Precepts Outreach, Inc. is one of the few organizations in the area providing this needed service.
Precepts Outreach, Inc. works collaboratively with local businesses and other nonprofits to identify individuals that are in need of services. Several area businesses and churches are clients of Precepts Outreach’s partner organization, Precepts, LLC – who provides regular tax resolution, tax preparation and tax planning for individuals, local businesses, churches and their members.
Precepts Outreach, Inc. has made it services available to the Charleston County Department of Social Service. Brochures and other marketing materials are on site for clients to review. In addition, Precepts Outreach, Inc. has developed a working relationship accompanied by letters of support, with the following organizations: Word of Restoration Ministries, CAM Enterprises, Heart to Heart International Ministry, Inc., Toddler’s Academy and Preschool -North Rivers, Pulmonary Diseases Care, PA, and Back to You Chiropractic. Precepts Outreach Ministry is focused on reaching into the community to identify and assist low income people with tax concerns. To reach the targeted population requires working closely with grass root organizations and increased funding.
